The sun rises above the tallest peak in northern Europe, as observed from a nearby peak at 05:40 in the morning. Even though shot in August, this high up it was -4C. And as calm and peaceful as it may appear, the wind speeds were so great it was hard to stand upright. The tripod had to be weighed down by a boulder, but even then vibration made some frames unsharp. I actually had to turn the IS on while still on the tripod. On the Canon 16-35 F4L IS this worked great in terms of sharpness, however as a side effect each bracket had to be painstakingly realigned by some 0-20px. 80% of the year this peak is covered in zero visibility fog. Furthermore it's buried in snow 10 out of 12 months of the year, so I was lucky to get a view like this. Believe it or not, 10-15 minutes after this shot the fog rolled in and turned everything white. This was the second time I hauled the camera gear up, the first one was a complete bust with dense fog, blizzards and everything in between.
You're looking at a total of eight 189MP panoramas bracketed for dr, dof and aperture. Photoshop was not happy about this one. Didn't want to go overboard with the processing, tried to keep it as close to the actual scene as possible.
