Location
This photo is taken at the shores of Lake Grapevine, Texas.Time
Around 6 pm in the evening.Lighting
Right before the golden hour. The late afternoon light is transiting into the more warmer oranges and yellows of the sunset. It's a nice time of the day in Texas when you can find a good mix of shadows and colors in the light. Aperture is f/3.2 and the exposure time is 0.01s (1/100).Equipment
Preferable I use a tripod. When out with the children, I use natural elements like rocks, sturdy trees or a solid ground as tripod. The perspective of the object/subject will often depend on where I can stabilize my Nikon D7200 camera with AF Micro-Nikkor 60 mm lens. For nature shots, I don't use flash-light.Inspiration
I like to take photos on ground level of hidden small objects we often don't notice or my children show them to me. It's so important to see, respect and enjoy the small things in life! One of my ongoing themes is little hidden flowers. They inspire me to take photos and write poems.Editing
No post-processing for this photo. However I like to use processing, some photos you just need to leave natural and untouched :-)!In my camera bag
As a mom, I often feel like an octopus with 8 arms. I can't take a lot of camera gear with me and I feel obliged to pack light. Mostly I carry the Nikon D7200 with the 35mm or 60mm lens. As a freelance photographer, it's a whole different story with around 8 different lenses, a few camera bodies and tons of accesories in my bag. Which one is better? A full bag or just 1 simple lens. It all depends on the perspective and the job assignment.Feedback
Be inspired by the small things in life or let you be inspired by the small people in life. Sometimes less is more. Use your environment to see another perspective in photography!
