This photo was taken in Waugh, Alberta a small community just north of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was a foggy and COLD winter day. This is St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic ChurchTime
Taken around 11 am on a very cold winter's day. It was very foggy which made for a great mood.Lighting
I wandered around this church loving the look of the church but I wanted a little bit different view of it. When I got down behind the gravestones it gave me what I was looking for - a reflective feeling - the church in the fog from the pastEquipment
I used my Canon 70D and a 24-105 lens 1/50 sec at f11Inspiration
I was looking for something moody on this foggy morning. This captured my imaginationEditing
Processing this as black and white seemed to enhance the image giving it the feeling of the past. I boosted the black end to increase the contrast. In my camera bag
My favourite lenses for wandering around are my 24-105 and my 70-200 both f4. While I love the f2.8 I find it just too heavy to carry and photograph with for long. The majority of my work is hand held although I always have a tripod near by. I also have polarizing filters that fit both these lenses. I also carry a 50 mm lens as well as a wide angle lens.Feedback
The winters in northern Alberta are long and cold. I always wear snow pants, boots, gloves and a hat - usually a scarf as well. The days are short. I head out just to see what is out and around these beautiful rural areas - always so different. Many days the sun beams down and others can be extremely snowy. Each has it's own beauty,
