Behind The Lens

Location

In my field...Central British Columbia.

Time

mid afternoon...

Lighting

I do very little editing other than the lighting...

Equipment

Nikkon D3200

Inspiration

Donkeys are natural dog HATERS ,,, Border Collies are natural herders...The Labradoodle in the middle loves everyone...It was a bit of mayhem for the first few months when these 4 first came together...I took this photo because it was the first time they seemed to trust each other..(Although not sure about the dark brown donkey that is giving the dogs the evil eye..lol) ...but a stray dog coming in the field would be quickly chased off the property...I have video of the donkeys escorting a 5 point Mule Deer buck off the property...The two donkeys were 2 of the 5 I took in over time...due to fact they were in horrendous health...I was so pleased at the fact that these 4 in the pic all interacted with each other throughout the day...The donkey on the right was so so special....I took him in parades....he met celebrities...he loved kids...he became mascot for the Gold Miners Association...

Editing

Just lightening or darkening...

In my camera bag

Bug Spray....water...dog treats...

Feedback

My favorite photos are the ones I took in my own backyard...lay down in the grass and observe what goes on at that level...take your pet photos down at their level.....Sorry...I shouldn't give advice...as I am just a greenhorn...and just rely on the settings....I usually just leave my camera on the Sport Mode 3D...as most my photos are of wildlife (and dogs)...which usually don't hang around long enough for you to focus...LOL..I compete in Agility with my collie....and take lots of photos at these events I attend....
