Behind The Lens

Location

While on a tour of Halong Bay, Vietnam in 2013, one of the stops was at a series of caves formed in one of the many limestone karsts. I saw this area where a break in the ceiling was allowing sunlight to stream through.

Time

This was shot around 2pm.

Lighting

Natural sunlight beams were emphasized by natural haze in the cave.

Equipment

This was shot on a Sony NEX-F3 mirrorless, 1/50 sec, f/4, 3200 ISO, 30mm.

Inspiration

The light was so amazing that I had to try to capture it.

Editing

I do adjustments in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

I have moved up to Sony full frame cameras, a7rIV and a7c.
