This is the very first photo I took that made me want to become a photographer and the picture that would help save my life. It was taken on my honeymoon to Hawaii with my first husband while I waited on the side of a black sand beach for a Luau to start. I was morbidly obese and in denial that it was limiting my life until I came to visit Hawaii. Between the seat belt extenders to not being able to do anything I dreamed of while I was there, I was getting a reality check that I wasn't prepared for. All I had left was my camera and the beauty all around me. That trip inspired me to change my life and I lost 217lbs. Some day I will go back to Hawaii and be able to accomplish the hikes and helicopter rides I've always wanted to do.
