Well it is correct that one should not touch them, they are poison dart frogs and in this case my favourite species, Dendrobates (means it lives in the trees from the Greek Déntro + bates =Trees + Bates ... the one that lives in the trees), however the specimens domestic grown and kept are far less poisonous than the ones in the wild due to the food sources, still it is a good measure to use gloves if one has to work in their terrarium or/and hold them. I wrote an article about them back in the 90's and thanks to passionate hobbyists, this species was saved from a very possible extinction.
