The photo was taken at our local Horse Racing Track, Lone Star in Grand Prairie, Texas.Time
This was late afternoon and it was rainy and the track was muddy.Lighting
It was cloudy and all natural lighting, the colors just pop.Equipment

The horses, jockeys and colors in addition to the anticipation of the race. Seeing the determination and the pure strength of the animal was exciting to photograph.Editing
I always edit my photos at least a little bit, for this photo I believe I added some HDR processing to bring out minute details.In my camera bag

Be patient, use your tripod and keep trying until you get the shot you want. Sometimes it is the first shot, other times the 100th! That is the fun of this and because it is digital, you can immediately see what you are getting! Have fun and take in the race at times away from the camera so you don’t miss it all!
