Location

This photo was taken in the small town of Tonkawa Oklahoma.

Time

I shot this photo around 6pm

Lighting

I love the golden hour. It provides wonderful warm lighting!

Equipment

I shot this with a canon 50D and a 30-55 mm lens

Inspiration

This photograph was from a senior photography session. The young man in the photo was a little camera shy but we joked around and had a lot of fun so he eventually warmed up to the camera.

Editing

I did very little post processing on this photo. I did some basic skin retouching and a bit of darkening around the edges.

In my camera bag

I always have my 30-55mm lens and my fixed 50mm lens

Feedback

My advice for capturing desirable portraits is to make sure that your subject is comfortable in every aspect. Are they comfortable with you? Get to know them and their personality. Are they the kind of person who is loud and outgoing? Are they quiet and shy? Give them a chance to loosen up and get comfortable with you. Don't try to make your subject dress, pose or try anything that doesn't fit them. If they are uncomfortable or feel awkward it will always show!
