Well, after waiting until 1:00am and driving to Swamp Road, my selected photo location a dark area of Romney Marsh. Traversing muddy fields, dykes, marsh, styles and railway line I arrived at my desired location. Despite the three feet of tall grass and brambles, which surrounded the site, assisted by the darkness my lack of balance a failing torch I found the wall feature. I located the position of the Milky Way and noted the wall was obviously orientated on the wrong axis; this did nothing to improve my expectations. In fact, this was not going as easily as hoped. I was amazed at the unexpected number of farm buildings and local roads with sodium street lighting that exist in this area. Unperturbed, I thumbled around in my bags, I set up my tripod and camera and approximated the camera settings.
Twenty shots later I was reasonably hopeful that I might have captured something which could possibly be presentable.
Made my way back to the car, which I was pleased to find was still there and drove home.
I suppose it's sods law that at that time in the morning the sky at my home was darker with less light pollution; significantly better than the photo location!
Anyway here's the result of my endeavour
