Behind The Lens

Location

Antarctica 2013 My sister and I went for an Antarctic cruise with G-Adventures , from Ushuahia in Argentina, South America.

Time

This was taken on our first landing of the day (i think) as we had 2 landings a Day! Rubber duckies. We were all sectioned off into groups and called down 2 groups at a time and then had to rug up and then rug up in our nice red jackets that were supplied , put on our gum boots/wellies and then jump into the boat that took us to the Penguins.:) Camera was put into a waterproof Bag( high tech) plastic grocery bag. then we jumped off and landed and saw this beautiful scene.

Lighting

The lighting was just fantastic! so clear and clean and breathtaking.

Equipment

My trusty NikonD800E was just new and it was fantastic to get such great photos. My lense was a Nikkor 24mm -300mm

Inspiration

I just wanted to get the mountains and the ice bergs and the penguins in to show the majesty of it all I think i got that ;)

Editing

Didnt need much post processing as it was just a great fluke shot! just added a bit of contrast i think

In my camera bag

I travel with my trusty Nikon D800E every where as that is all i have! haha my lenses are the 24mm - 300mm or the Big 14mm - 24mm F2.4 that about all i use and of course my remote shutter control

Feedback

Go to Antarctica :) its Fantastic and overwhelming and crisp and clear and clean. Photos just take themselves
