Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken just north of Old Forge NY while on a snowmobile ride.

Time

It was probably mid to late morning, we usually left early for an entire day's ride and this was our first stop.

Lighting

There were some clouds and a storm brewing to the northwest but the sun seemed exceptionally bright, really highlighting the trees that had a sky backdrop.

Equipment

I'm not completely sure but I believe this was taken with a Samsung point and shoot. It was much easier to carry while snowmobiling and less worry if something happened rather than lugging the Nikon with accessories.

Inspiration

Sunshine on trees with a darker sky in the background will never get old for me.

Editing

I likely tweaked the exposure, contrast and brightness a bit to bring attention to what I saw in person.

In my camera bag

On trips like that just a cellphone and a point and shoot. I don't have the proper equipment protection for long cold rides.

Feedback

My only advice is the same I give myself. If you like it and want to save it to look at again, take the picture. In fact take at least 5 and maybe even 20. Unless you aren't pressed for time then fill your memory card.
