Behind The Lens

Location

This is Athabasca Falls, I took this photo in Jasper National Park in British Columbia.

Time

I had woken up early, about 6 am, in Kimberly because I had to head back home to Mackenzie, BC from vacation. I was on my way through the Jasper National Park and decided to stop in, I had never been before.

Lighting

The sun had just came up as I was coming up to the park, so it was high enough to capture the mist in the air as well as fill the gulley the falls had washed away in the rocks over the centuries!

Equipment

I use a Nikon D800 with a 200mm lens. No flash, no tripod!

Inspiration

When I camp upon the railing at the falls the mist in the air captured my attention and the deep deep gully the falls had carved into the rocks. It was magical!

Editing

In this photograph there was no post-processing done.

In my camera bag

My D800, 200mm, 50mm and 35mm lens. I have my ball head tripod, remote extra cards for memory!!

Feedback

Getting up early (or staying up late) to catch the perfect lighting is always helpful!
