Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the Wai-o-Tapu park in New Zealand, close to Rotorua.

Time

At around midday. I didn't really plan ahead to take this photo cause I didn't know much about this park and how amazing it was.

Lighting

Honestly, I didn't really think much of the lightning cause I was just so stunned about the colors of this pool and the 'path' going through it, that I didn't really think much about it in that moment.

Equipment

Unfortunately, my camera ran out of battery right before and I didn't have an extra one at that moment, so I had to take it with my iPad.

Inspiration

I just loved how colorful this pool was. After a while of looking at it and walking around it (the pool was sort of big), I found this small path going through it, which just made it perfect. So I just kneeled down to have a better angle and took that picture instantly.

Editing

No I didn't.

In my camera bag

I usually try to have a light equipment, since mostly (while taking photos of a landscape) I try to have a better view, angle, light by sort of climbing up a tree, rock, etc. Sometimes I even take a picture while riding a horse. It just changes it up a bit and of course in those cases, smaller or lighter lenses make it way easier.

Feedback

In my experience, lots of amazing photos happen unexpected. Sometimes you just have a feeling about taking a picture of something in a specific way and mostly (in my case), those photos happen to be surprisingly great. Of course, it is always great to plan ahead and have a vision beforehand. I just like to take a picture and be surprised while looking at it after the shot.
