I'm doing a project on 'human rights' and have been looking at the 'right to housing'. Those living on the streets with pets, struggle more than most in terms of finding somewhere to live. Hostels that are are animal friendly are still rarity with only 157 in the whole of UK accepting animals. Often the waiting time for a hostel is at least three months. I've asked the lady in the photograph "Why just not give up the dogs?" She answered "They're part of my family. They're my children." She's planning on spending the winter on the streets.
