This is a self portrait so I was using my tripod. Canon 6D 24-70 zoom lens. Continuous light with a white umbrella and a reflector.Inspiration
This photo is part of a series I did going through all the emotions I went through when I had an abortion at the age of 18. This particular photo I'm showing how I felt bound to what I did, trapped in guilt and anguish. Like I was enslaved to these emotions.Editing
Yes. I changed this photo to black and white in photoshop and boosted the contrast a touch. In my camera bag
Canon 6D. My 24-70 zoom lens. A 50mm lens and a 135mm. A speedliite 430EX flash. Flashmate L-308S. A Grey card. and extra batteries.Feedback
Lighting is everything. Play with the lighting until you get the effect you are looking for. For example if I did a Rembrandt style lighting in this image it would not give it the same feel and effect. With all the emotion I was trying to convey I brought the frame in tight to show extra tension. You want your framing to also speak and show the emotions you are trying to share in your work. And finally... put your heart in your photos and it will show.
