Location
I took this at Howrah Beach, which is conveniently located in one of the suburbs in Hobart, Tasmania. It is just a short 15-minute drive from the city centre.Time
It was taken during the blue hour post sunset.Lighting
As the sky was getting dark after sunset, it provided an excellent setting for long exposure shots.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon 600D and Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 lens, mounted on the a Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
I have always loved long exposure and seascape photography, and as there are lots of seaweed on the rocky regions of the beach, I thought it would make a good subject for a long exposure photo. As the sky was getting dark, it was to my advantage to get a long exposure shot.Editing
Yes, as landscape photography usually requires post-processing. I've done mine on Adobe Lightroom, as it's convenient and easy to use.In my camera bag
Apart from my Canon 600D, I usually have my trusty Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 wide-angle lens for landscape and travel photography. In addition, I would carry my Hoya HD CPL filter too, which is an essential for me for landscape and waterfall photography. I would also carry a prime lens, Canon 40mm f2.8, for street and travel photography.Feedback
For seascape photography, the best times to get out there is before or during sunrise, and the blue hour post sunset. Low light gives you an advantage for long exposure, which is essential for seascape photography, as you would want the water to have a silky feel in your pictures. And, try all sorts of angles to get different perspectives of the landscape and subject, as you never know which image would surprise you.
