Location
This was taken in Westminster, London, on my way to work, I left early to take a more scenic route, hoping to see some fog.Time
Around 8.00 on a cold November morningLighting
With this much fog and diffused light it was like shooting in a giant softbox, perfect!Equipment
This is one of those "I wish I had my camera on me" moments, so I used my iphone 4s insteadInspiration
Contrary to popular belief fog in London is quite rare, so I used this opportunity to capture London's popular landmarks Big Ben and the Parliament engulfed in fog giving it an almost dickensian feelEditing
No, what looks like vignettes in the corners is actually my phone cover, which doesn't fit very well!In my camera bag
I normally carry Helios 44/2 for portraits/bokeh/low light shots, Canon 28-135 USM IS for longer distance, Sigma 10-20 for landscape I use EOS 400D and EOS 500D.Feedback
Many cities have fog occurring daily but if you are looking to take similar photos in London, early Spring or late Autumn is the time to do it. Standing close to the river helps, make sure to leave early and wear layers!
