Location
I often go for a evening walk to a rivulet near my residence (Kangra, Himachal, India). In the month of September when the monsoon recedes, it is time for the wild grasses on the banks of the rivulet to bloom. I took this shot from behind the blooming grasses against the background of brilliantly colored sunset sky.Time
This shot was taken during the evening time in the month of September last year (16-09-2015) at around 6.30 p.m. After taking a few 'routine' shots of the rivulet, I wanted to try a different shot which would capture the beauty of the blossoming grasses. Almost instinctively I went behind the grasses and took a low angled low shot to make the grasses look taller than they actually were and to make them stand out against the colorful hues of sunset sky. The fading sunlight reflecting from the water nicely added to the beauty of the scene.Lighting
As I was carrying only a point and shoot camera, the image was captured using auto settings, however I did wait for the perfect moment of the golden hour in evening time.Equipment
I used a simple point and shoot superzoom camera (Canon SX 40 HS)Inspiration
I am always trying to do something different and in this photograph I wanted to highlight the blossoms of grass against the sunset skies. The thought behind it was that even mundane and commonplace things like grass can look beautiful.Editing
