I took this photo of my lovely lurcher at home on the couch :)Time
This was taken during the day in the front room with one speedlight on camera bouncing off white card.Lighting
I wanted a studio feel to the photo, so used natural light behind me and one speedlight on camera to help light his fur.Equipment
Canon 60D and Sigma 70-200mm lens at f4, ISO200 SS1/100 and focal length 84mmInspiration
My lovely lurcher is named after a wizard and I wanted to capture his scruffy fur and noble expression :)Editing
I used Lightroom to edit and then turned the photo mono for his fur.In my camera bag
I have not upgraded to a Canon 5d Mk3 and usually have my 135mm f2 lens attached :) I also take my 24-70mm 2.8 lens out in the bag too.Feedback
I think having some nice diffused natural light behind has helped to keep the light soft. Always try for pics after a walk when your dog is calmer and more likely to stay still and chill :)
