Location
This was taken from one bank of the Chapman River at Sunset Beach a suburb of Geraldton in Western AustraliaTime
I had only just recently arrived in Geraldton and went for a walk to explore the local area and I found this track that ran along the river from the ocean back to the bridge over the river on Chapman Road, I came to this point where there the view across the river was clear as the sun was going down.Lighting
In Western Australia the sun sets over the ocean so we do get some amazing sunsets here. This was about 45 mins before sunsetEquipment
Taken with my Canon 760D and Tamron 18 -250Inspiration
That day the water was glassy .. not that usual The scene was just so beautiful, the Sun was just at the right level to make the trees glow orange and darken the glassy water to produce the perfect mirrorEditing
Post processed in Photoshop mildly, Vibrance was boosted a little to enhance the orange in the sunset glow on the trees and darken the water a little. I also removed a power line which distracted from the image. In my camera bag
I don't have a bag, I use this combination always.Feedback
arrive well before the sunsets and watch what happens to the scene as the sunsets so you can judge the best time to arrive. Explore the location for the place to take the photo. Once you know the best time and find your location wait for a clear sunny day and go to the spot and shoot away
