Behind The Lens

Location

in my home in the dining room on the dining table

Time

not sure about time of day but it was daylight hours

Lighting

used some natural light coming from window and flashgun attached to camera

Equipment

camera was my trusty nikon d50 though old is a great piece of kit also used a manfrotto tripod with 804rc2 head also camera mounted nissin di622 flash. along with this i used white card as a light bounce and black card for the background to stop any reflection and shadows

Inspiration

I like taking pictures of flowers and nature and after reading about different lighting and setting up of shots of various objects in a studio environment i would experiment with setting up shots to see what i can achieve using some flowers bought from the supermarket and some basic inexpensive kit.

Editing

There was some post processing using photoshop elements for white balance and colour intensity followed by layers masking layer and eraser tool.Make a layer then duplicate layer convert to black and white use eraser tool to show colours on bottom layer then merge down and one colour popped flower

In my camera bag

nikon d50 body nikon d300 body and nikon 24-70, 70-300, 55-200 lenses, flash and some filters along with batteries and cards

Feedback

Not sure what to say except what ever idea you come up with go with it experiment with different settings and angles till you get the shot that was what you saw in your head you don't need lots of expensive gear just play with your camera.
