Location
This photo was taken on the access path leading down to Au Train Beach in Au Train, Michigan. Towards the bottom of the path you can see the mouth of the Au Tran River emptying into Lake Superior.Time
It was mid-afternoon on a beautiful fall day.Lighting
Just pure natural light!Equipment
I used a Canon 5d MkII, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L series lens on a tripod.Inspiration
It was, basically, a "capture the moment" moment.Editing
Yes I did. This is an HDR image. I took three exposures of the scene. One average exposure, a one stop under exposure and a one stop over exposure. Then I blended the three together in a program called HDArtist Pro. I finished the image in Lightroom with a little vibrance. In my camera bag
My Canon 5d, two lens', a 24-70mm and a 70-200mm. A speed lite, wireless triggers, tripod, extra batteries, etc.Feedback
The only advise I can give for capturing images like this is to always keep your camera close at hand. You never know what image might present itself in your daily travels.
