I took this photo on the front lawn one winter early in the morniong so the sun was back lighting the dew drops.Time
I took this photo very early one morning when the sun was still low in the sky, on looking out the window I saw the grass sparkling like diamonds so decided to try and capture it.Lighting
I always try and take my photo's in the early morning or late afternoon to dusk as I find the light is much softer. I mainly take my photo's in the early morning and look at which direction the light is coming from for the best photo.Equipment
I used my Canon 600D with a macro 100 mm lens, no flash or tripod, rested the camera on the ground, as the grass was wet I lay down on a sunshield for car front windscreen which I carry with my as it works as a highligher as wellInspiration
I love macro photography and love how the sun makes the dew on the grass look like diamonds so I often take this kind of photo to try and capture the look.Editing

If I'm out walking I take my shoulder bag with my Canon mirrorless M6, 15-45mm, 28mm macro and my 55-200mm zoom, cleaning cloth, spare memory card and battery, as the whole kit is so small and light it is easy to carry, if I'm going on a serious photo shoot I take my large backpack with my Canon 6D, and depending what I'm aiming to capture, various lenses.If landscapes, wide angle 14 mm Samyang, my canon zoom EF 70-300 and my 24-105mm various lenses,if macro I take my 100mm macro, I also have my 50mm prime quite often in my bag, always have spare memnory cards and batteries also, cleaning kit, ND filters, polariser, and remotes. I'm always scared I won't have the right lens with me so usually carry to much.Feedback
be prepared to get wet and cold, lie on something that is waterproof, find a good angle where the sun hits the drops and have a good macro lens and patience is a virtue, use manual focus and F stop off about 4 to 5 and use aperture setting, I vary the white balance depending what look I want. and also have a steady hand or use a tripod but I find if I want to get low a tripod doesn't cut it so rest the camera on the ground
