The photo was taken a Arusha National Park, Tanzania. My tour guide/driver toke up the mountain to capture, photograph, Colobus monkeys. On the way we came across Blue monkeys. While driving, I noticed a family of baboons chilling in the trees.Time
We went out for a morning safari at about 0900. On the way to Arusha's National Park, it was an awesome sunny day until we hit the base of the mountain. It started to drizzle and got somewhat cool. The further we went up the mountain, the rain started to get heavy with the fog rolling in.Lighting
Due to the rain and fog, the area got gloomy but I enjoyed every bit of it. O tried not to use any flash on the grounds I didn't want it to frighten or aggravate the animal.Equipment
If I'm not mistaken, I believe I used a Sony a7RII with a Sony FE 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G OSS Lens.Inspiration
I was so eager to see something awesome granted it was drizzling. While spotting Blue monkeys going in and out of the bushes grubbing, my instinct told me to look to my left into the trees. to my amazement, there were troops of baboons in the tree baring with the rain. Those two were closer to the trail who happened to be flashing me at the time. So I had to capture them in their gloomy state.Editing
The only adjustment I made was the lighten the photo due to how dark and cloudy it got.In my camera bag
I had a Sony NEX 6 along with my Sony a7RII with a Sony 50mm and 70 - 300 lens.Feedback
The only advice I've is to have an open mind to see something other than the Big Five. On safaris, there are times when you might not get the opportunity to see any lions, rhinos, Cape buffalos and elephants. With your heart set on seeing them you might miss out in seeing something else spectacular.
