Beautiful. Love this perspective; the clarity below and silhouette tree tops. This is the type of photograph that inspires me.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo Alle Foreste Casentinesi, a forest of beautiful centennial beech trees, is located in Poppi in Tuscany in the Province of Arezzo.

Time

Usually, I go to the place where I want to take the photos at night, so this photo was taken I assume at dawn, surely it was a day with low clouds, crossing the mountain, it happens very often in the autumn in those parts, for me I am the best moments what you say what the atmosphere.

Lighting

the sun is not very high and the fog made practically the whole scene, the light enters low above the clouds and creates that brightness that you would always like to see, beautiful and almost eternal

Equipment

Back then, at the time I used a Canon 5D MK III with 14 mm Samyang, the photo was taken on a tripod from below, it is a single shot let's say it is a photo from a very trivial technical point of view to be made.

Inspiration

In fact, I'm not someone who lets himself be inspired, I don't look at other photographers much, not even on social media although I have friends full of photographers and there really are really good people to follow seriously, but I always try my way, I explain how this photo is born, a friend asks me if I want to go and photograph the woods, I used to the mountains that have few trees I say I don't really want them but in the end, I go. The first time I was there, there was the neva and I was enchanted by the beauty and peace that that place conveyed, so soon they became my second home. Photographing trees has become a real passion, and absolutely by accident while I tie my shoes, so I lower my eyes to heaven and boom from below are beautiful, and so wide-angle in the hand and many many photos.

Editing

Absolutely yes but this is actually not one of those photos that have a lot of posts, the mood was already that dark of a photo in the fog, so with lightroom, I only made some simple corrections such as temperature and contrasts, I strengthened the shadows creating a detachment between the tree and the background and I have slightly emphasized the light entering the fog all here 10 minutes of development process.

In my camera bag

For a couple of years I have switched to Sony and therefore my photographic equipment is, a7 III and a7 IV and a Sony 6300 where I keep a tele mounted practically fixed on the machine, while the others can mount other lenses such as a 16/35 f 4 sony Zeiss and a 14 mm f2.8 Samyang if I wanted a more wide-angle lens, a medium sony 24 70 f 2.8 so not covered up to 300 mm I would say that it is a nice weight for someone who walks through a forest or a mountain but in general I take everything with me, just to never miss a shot, another fundamental thing I recommend never forgetting, Lee photographic filters but in reality, it's been a couple of years that I don't use filters anymore I prefer other techniques.

Feedback

The advice is to observe, in this case trees that can tell something, and above all, what makes the difference is the situation, in this case the same tree photographed with the leaves and without fog would not have the same impact would be any tree , so I would say that first of all you have to study the photo you want to take and then the location and only after taking the photo this to avoid making many useless photos suitable only to make you waste time and space in HD good luck and thanks of opportunity.
