Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Sun Yat-sen Park in Montreal's Chinatown.

Time

This was taken around 1 PM

Lighting

The midday lighting brings up some interesting shadows that adds to the shot.

Equipment

Olympus OMD E-M1 wtih 75-300 mm lens.

Inspiration

I was actually waking around and I don't know why I had my 75-300 lens on, not very common for street, when I came across this perfect pose that this homeless was taking without knowing. No time to get closer and change lens, so in a hurry I just zoomed in at 240mm and grabbed the shot. A few months later I saw this man again and I chatted a bit with him and I showed him the photo, he was happy. Thanks Viateur!

Editing

This is the exact shot as taken, no cropping , I did convert it to Monochrome but the color one is as interesting.

In my camera bag

At the time I was using an E-M1 but I now carry an E-M1 Mark II, 12-40mm Pro, 45mm1.8 Prime,75-300mm and my preferred Voitglander 25mm f.095

Feedback

The only advice I can give is, no matter what lens or camera you are carrying, it is the end result that counts. Keep shooting, keep shooting...you eventually end up getting your perfect or preferred shot.
