Behind The Lens

Location

That photo was taken in November 2015 on a deserted beach on the east coast of Corsica, the Costa Serena.

Time

Obviously it was dusk, around 4pm at that place during winter.

Lighting

The light is almost always beautiful in Corsica, especially dusk and dawn. That day was no exception.

Equipment

A Nikon D700 and a Tokina 80-400 @155mm. Due to thelow light, and due to that lens that needs to be closed at F/10 to give acceptable sharpness, I had to raise the isos a little to keep a somehow fast exposure of 1/500 sec.

Inspiration

That little guy saved my life. I just shoot him non stop, everywhere, anytime.

Editing

Levels, contrasts, and some denoising in DXO. Nothing fancy.

In my camera bag

Any of my DSLR that has a charged battery, and the first lens that I can reach. I don't have a bag. Bags mean heavy stuff, too much stuff, and spending too much time worrying about that stuff; I don't really care about equipment: I just shoot what I see with what I have at that moment. When I go specifically to shoot something special, I just carry the minimum things I think will be needed.

Feedback

Easy recipe: a dog, a beach at dusk and a camera...
