Location
I was Urban Exploring an old dye factory with some friends, as we were going through we came across the old staff room. This was the only door left with the numbers and paint relatively intact. I thought it was quite amazing since the factory hadn't been in operation for 20 years.Time
It was late in the morning, the sun was just starting to peak at its highest point.Lighting
Due to the time of day, I thought the little glimmers of natural light that got through the musty windows was the perfect amount of light. It not only reflected the environment but was also enough to capture the details of the locker itself.Equipment
This was shot using a Nikon D3200, with a 50mm f/1.8 lens attached.Inspiration
I wanted to capture something that is reflective of urban exploration and the way we build things. Simply because we stop relying upon it, does not necessarily means it goes away. To me it means that we've got to be mindful of what we take and leave behind.Editing
For post - processing, I did a mere white balance correction and sharpened the image to make the details really pop. Also through in my watermark because of how remarkable an image it is.In my camera bag
Nowadays I've downsized from carrying two cameras to one, and only carry my prime lens (Nikon 50mm) and my Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 lens. I do a lot of low light photography, so those two do pretty well. I also make sure to have my Nikon Sb-700 just in case.Feedback
If you're planning on going urban exploring, always make sure you take friends and be prepared. Anything and everything may go wrong in these environments. Also don't just look for the right picture, capture everything interesting and unique in that environment and the pictures will speak for themselves
