Behind The Lens

Location

Cloughlea co Wicklow Ireland is about 45 minutes from dublin city,it's beautiful and so peaceful. This small mountain river flows into the famous river liffey that runs through Dublin city.

Time

It was taken on a very dark overcast day to get a long exposure.

Lighting

When shooting water and to get this effect you need to shoot in overcast conditions

Equipment

Nikon D300 with a nikon 28-80 lens probably the cheapest lens you could buy it cost me 40 euro but don't let that fool you its excellent great sharpness throughout. I also used a hoya polarizer filter, and Cokin10 stop nd filter .camera was mounted on a manfrotto tripod with a shutter release cable and i used mirror lockup for crucial sharpness. If I remember it was shot at f16

Inspiration

It's my favourite place on earth so I don't need much inspiration :))) it's just so peaceful.

Editing

No much processing all done in camera with filters just a little enhanced with nik pro

In my camera bag

Nikon D300, nikon D700.sigma 10-20 lens, nikon 28-80 lens, nikon 18-35 g lens, cokin nd filters,Lee big stopper and nd grad filters hoya polarizer filter.

Feedback

Number 1 is always shoot on dark overcast days to get results like this as it slows down your shutter speed also you need to use a tripod and shutter release cable or your timer to get sharp shots and learn how to use filters, polarizer, nd grads, 10 stop nd filters
