Location
This image was taken at Deep Creek Lake located in western Maryland one early morning in early November. All was very still and calm and I loved the subtle color details that appear here.Time
This was taken at about 7 AM before the sun had time to burn off any of the mist on this early November morning.Lighting
I did not have a tripod available, but took a chance on a hand-held shot. I changed my ISO to a high setting, but I think the graininess of the image is a plus in this case.Equipment

I love to capture what I think is beautiful about the world around me, and specifically in this case, a dreary yet lovely morning at a beautiful lake was an inspiration in itself.Editing
I used Adobe Photoshop to bring up the contrast for this image and I used levels to enhance the blue quality that I liked for this image.In my camera bag
I usually try to keep my bag on the light side, but I do love to use a polarizing filter for sunny days. I also carry a flash unit and an extra lens or two.Feedback
I always feel like you need to put yourself in as many new environments as possible. I know that I always get a fresh perspective when I am in a new place and love to explore with my camera. Take chances. You may only hit on a "winner" occasionally, but that will be your stepping stone to becoming a better photographer.
