Behind The Lens

Location

Photo taken at Thomas Steers way, Liverpool, UK. Quite close to River Mersey.

Time

Photo taken in the evening around 8.00pm

Lighting

The light from the street lamps, which were covered in Christmas decorative shading, softened the light and the rising mist from the river made for such a good lighting opportunity perfectly setting up the two walkers in fron tof me.

Equipment

Equipment used was minimal, my old Nikon D 3200, and 18 - 300mm Nikon lens.

Inspiration

To be honest this was completely opportunistic. I was on my way to pik up my daughter from a class, when I saw the walkers in fron of me and thought yes that would look good, and quite mysterious in the available light.

Editing

Minimal post procssing in Lightroom to get the proper colour balance.

In my camera bag

Normally, Nikon D 3500, Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens, Nikon 18 - 300mm f4.6 lens,

Feedback

late autumn is the perfect time to be looking for a similar situation, especially if you are near water, as the mist tends to lift and can present really good opportunity to take a slightly mysterious photograph. Also be ready to take an opportunity when it comes.
