Gullfoss waterfall is one of the most famous landscape highlights in Iceland. It is also one of the most visited and photographed sites on the whole island. But at around midnight in June, we were the only ones. The June midnight sun cannot be seen from inside the shadowy canyons of the river, but believe me, it's there. And it painted the sky and the clouds in amazing colors just when it was setting behind the mountains in the north. That's the moment when I took my shot. Actually, it wasn't only a moment, it was a whole two minutes. I wanted a really long exposure not only for the flowing water but also for the spray opposite of the waterfall to be silky smooth and hazy. So I used a 10 stop ND filter and a 3 stop Grad filter together (both mounted onto my Nikkor 14-24 mm with a filter holder custom made by a 3D-printer).

Dangers lie beneath dreamy, aqua fog under soft, pastel skies.
Beautiful shot, Nice choice with the heavy ND filters.
