Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in my kitchen while I was working on some jewelry items (another hobby). My granddaughter was 'inspecting' my work.Time
It was mid morning so the lighting in this part of the house is rather dingy, but I still couldn't resist getting my camera out....which I do on a regular basis.Lighting
The lighting didn't really allow much for showing true color in this room....another reason I chose to edit it to black and white.Equipment
I used my Fuji camera, not expensive, but works perfectly for me!Inspiration
You never know how kids will act or what they will do when you start taking pictures, so I've learned to just 'go with the flow' when the grandkids are here. Kids always do something funny ...just have to be patient enough to wait...and be ready!Editing
I played around with editing options to see the different effects....doing this one in a simple black and white just seemed to 'fit'.In my camera bag
Since photography is relatively new for me, I don't have expensive equipment. I have my Fuji Fine Pix SL1000 with a 50x full HD zoom lens (24-1200mm). I am constantly learning the different settings and playing around with lighting. I am far from being a pro, but I LOVE taking photos.Feedback
I'm really not experienced enough to give advice, but I will say that when you are behind the camera and try so hard to capture what you're seeing....and sometimes you may see what others don't,...DON'T give up!! It may take you 100 times to find 5 photos that satisfy you! You will be your own worst critic. I won a local phone book contest (the winner has their photo on the cover)...I may as well have won a Pulitzer! That's not much to some, but I was so proud. I have found myself waiting 45 minutes for a butterfly to land on a flower; watched the clouds waiting for the rays of sunlight to shine through....it becomes a passion. I hope to continuously learn and, even though I may never become a pro, I will always love taking and enjoying others' photos.
