Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture in the country outside of Kimberly, ID. It was in my back field.

Time

It was just after sunrise. I saw all the frost and wanted to snap some pictures before the sun was fully up and melted everything.

Lighting

The lighting was perfect from the sun coming up behind me. I didn't use any filters. I think my camera was set on autofocus even.

Equipment

I used my Nikon. I was using my 300-700 mm lens, I believe. No tripod or flash was necessary. Just had to zoom a little.

Inspiration

I had just driven home from work and wanted to grab my camera and get some pictures before the sun melted the frost and ruined everything.

Editing

I might have cropped a little bit but other than that this is exactly what the picture started like.

In my camera bag

I have a small lens and a longer lens. A lot of filters but I don't use them as often as I would like. I just snap a lot of pictures and then find the best ones. I love Photoshop Elements and Lightroom.

Feedback

Always know where the sun is and how it's going to effect your pictures. And have fun! I really don't do a lot of editing anymore. Keep it simple. I know people set up great shots, but I've taken awesome pictures just walking around and shooting everyday things. Remember to shoot lots of pictures. Sometimes the best picture will be the 400th one.
