This past Summer I spent two weeks in Alaska photographing whales, seal, sea lions, eagles and glaciers. This image shows the Sawyer Glacier at Tracy Arm, Alaska calving. It is an amazing site to see! When you are there you get to experience the sound of the glacier calving. It is like a sonic boom. It is usually a precursor to the actual calving. I love Alaska! This was our 4th time there. If you go, remember to dress in layers, bring waterproof boots, and protection for your camera equipment! It rains a lot in Alaska during the summer, but if you are prepared, it is a trip of a lifetime! (Do you notice the seals on the right side of the image?)
