Location
The photo was taken in Binh Ba island, Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam more than one year ago when I visited the island with my friend. The island is located in Cam Ranh bay where people feed lobsters in my home country, Vietnam. Cam Ranh bay is a wonderful place which has many beautiful white sand beaches, turquoise sea water and surrounding high mountains.Time
I got up around 3 am and walked about 3 kilometers to reach Chuong beach where many tourists also came to watch sunrise. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and windy so many people gave up. I and some others continued waiting until around 6 am. Finally, the sun rose out of the clouds and spread light magically.Lighting
I took directly toward the sun to make the sun brighter and surrounding rocks and people's silhouettes darker.Equipment
This photo was taken by a Canon EOS Kiss X7i camera with an attached 18-55 mm f/3.5 lens which I borrowed from my brother in law. I did not have any other equipment.Inspiration
I observed the magical sunrise and wanted to capture that moment as a memory of my trip.Editing
I did not know how to use a DSLR camera at that time so I set the camera at automatic mode and the photo was saved as a jpeg file. I used Adobe Photoshop Express, a free software, to post-process the photo a little bit. I increased sharpness, contrast and saturation. In my camera bag
I have a Canon EOS 70D camera with an 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens which I bought one year ago.Feedback
Be patient, observe with your eyes and soul, capture right moment and you will get what you deserve.
