Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at White Sand Dunes, Hoa Thang, Bac Binh district, Binh Thuan province, Vietnam when I and my twin brother took a road trip with a scooter. We rode along the coast in the south and center of my home country, Vietnam, where has many beautiful white sand beaches, turquoise sea water and surrounding high mountains. The White Sand Dunes is located near Mui Ne, a tourist attraction place in Vietnam. They are surrounded by two beautiful natural lakes where farmers can grow lotuses, fishermen can go fishing.

Time

It was around 4 and 5 pm.

Lighting

It was a hot and sunny day without any clouds in the sky. I decided to take photos in the late afternoon until sunset.

Equipment

This photo was taken by a Canon EOS 70D camera with an attached 17-40 mm f/4L USM lens. I did not have any other equipment.

Inspiration

I saw the patterns of sand and the natural curves of sand dunes in other beautiful photos. They inspired me to capture those natural beauties. Also, I wanted to save my own photos as a memory of my trip.

Editing

I used Adobe Photoshop Express, a free software, to edit the photo a little bit. I increased sharpness, contrast and saturation.

In my camera bag

I have a Canon EOS 70D camera with an attached 17-40 mm f/4L USM lens and an 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens.
