Location
One of many photographs taken on honeymoon with my new husband faithfully following and holding me steady when the need arose. This is Morro Bay on the California coast, a peaceful, relaxing and naturally stunning part of the World, interspersed with a few man-made features including the boats in the harbour. Bliss.Time
It was early October so probably around 6-7pm. The sun had shone all day and as it started to descend I could see the telltale golden hues starting to form. As we ate dinner in a restaurant overlooking the harbour I abandoned dessert to ensure I captured my favourite natural phenomenon in all its glory.Lighting
There was so little to contemplate or manipulate, nature really did it all for me!Equipment
Nikon D90 with 105mm lens. No tripod (unless you count husband standing behind me holding my shoulders).Inspiration
The sun is my star sign and I genuinely cannot let a sunset pass me by. And especially on our honeymoon.Editing
Genuinely no!In my camera bag
Only ever my Nikon D90 though I did invest in a fixed 35mm lens to manage the weight I carry due to arthritis.Feedback
Start shooting as soon as the golden glow starts, well before the sun gets to the 'sweet' spot ... then you'll be prepared with shutter speed and framing when those 4-5 seconds of natural perfection arrive.
