I've attempted to visit Aldeyafoss on quite a few occasions. It's a little off the beaten track. Snow and ice has been the main problem on previous attempts but last week, I finally got to see the waterfall. Glacial ice melt water (accounts for the beautiful blue colour of the water) pours into this amphitheatre of rock, decorated with basalt columns and rock that appears to have been carved by a scuptor. It really is very beautiful indeed.
