Location
This photo was taken at my home studio. We have 17+ acres here in southern NH and love using every bit of it!Time
Every night before sunset my husband and I take our two girls out for a walk. The light was soft and warm and the air was crisp. Here in New Hampshire the sun set early in the Fall so this was taken at about 430pm.Lighting
I found a little pocket of light and sat her there. I particularly like that spot because of the way the sun comes through the trees and lights up the foliage.Equipment
I used a Nikon D750 with a 200mm lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I'm always looking for little moments to capture that I think will trigger memories later in my life. I mean, isn't that what photography is? Trying to capture moments you never want to forget. I want to remember how little my daughter was, how she crossed her feet when she sat down, how she loved smelling flowers and the little curl in her hair.Editing
I made minor adjustments in RAW then used curves and selective color to enhance the Fall foliage. I also then ran the oil painting filter on low for a polished look.In my camera bag
I always have my 70-200mm and my reflector! I can not live without those two pieces! I also have a fish eye, wide angle, 24-70mm, two speed lights and my shootsac bag. Oh, and bug spray! And stickers! And...Feedback
Shoot when the sun is low and soft. Pay attention to your background to make sure there is nothing distracting. Use the colors around you and shoot with a shallow depth of field.
