Location
This photo was captured on an old country road near Almont, Michigan. My wife and I love to get out whenever we can to explore and photograph the changing environment. The best part about living in Michigan is how often the scenery changes around us due to the seasons and our rollercoaster weather patterns. Every day brings us new eye candy.Time
This was taken on March 8th, 2015 at 11:26am (The picture's data says 2014 because I accidentally entered the wrong date when I first purchased my new Canon 7D Mark II. It has since been corrected lol)Lighting
Lighting was perfect for this shot. It's not always easy when trying to capture detail in bright snow.Equipment
This was shot with my trusty Canon 7D Mark II. Shot at 55mm with the kit lens (18-135mm) on a Manfrotto tripod. Settings were 1/80sec. | f/14 | ISO-100Inspiration
I love how fast the scenery changes from season to season. I love capturing that change even more. Sadly it seems like most people never take a moment to take it Mother Nature and all of her glory. I feel like it's my job to get out there and remind people how precious nature is. I get a thank you every now and then by someone who didn't notice how beautiful an area I shot is. I believe that is my inspiration, reminding people how beautiful our land and everything on it is. Hopefully when people see good nature photography it might inspire them to stop and enjoy nature that surrounds them.Editing
This was shot at multiple exposures and than layered together. This method is known as HDR. I keep my HDR shots completely realistic and take pride in my work. I sometimes feel it's necessary to use multiple exposures in order to pick up the shadows and not over expose the highlights at the same time. I feel very fortunate to live in a time where photography and it's post editing techniques are advancing so rapidly. In my camera bag
Backpack carrying my Canon 7D Mark II | Tamron 150-600mm | Canon 60mm Macro 2.8 | Canon 24mm 2.8 | Canon 50mm 1.8 | Canon 18-135mm kit | Canon 55-250mm | Yongnuo 568EX II Speedlite | Manfrotto tripod | Shutter Release | And many other goodies.Feedback
It doesn't necessarily matter what type of equipment you have in your bag or how expensive it is, but your understanding of light and how to use what tools you have in front of you. Practice Practice Practice!!!
