I was not expecting anything as the entire day was a mix of different grays but just when the sun was setting, the sky exploded in a range of pinks, oranges and purples. It was one of the best sunsets I've experienced this year.

I was not planning to shoot something colorful like this as it was a quite unusual gray overcast day and I only went to the beach to do some location scouting for the upcoming super moon. It was just around sunset when suddenly a burst of color lightened up the sky in beautiful pink, orange and purple tones. It only lasted for a minute or two and I was very lucky to be at that exact spot.Editing
I tweaked the white balance a bit to bring out the orange tones, then I did some dodge and burn to lighten up the poles in the water plus I cropped the photograph to a square from the original 3:2 ratio. In my camera bag
This really depends on what I'm planning to photograph. I usually have my Sony A7R-II body and the infrared converted Canon 5D Mark II with a selection of lenses and ND filters plus my tripod is always in my car trunk.Feedback
You never can really predict what the weather is going to offer you but in general - based on my personal experience - the worse it looks the better it get!
