I waited for a couple hours, arriving far earlier than I needed to, for these hot air balloons to be prepped to lift off. And when they did I jumped on my bike and sped to a location that I was sure to get a good shot of their ascent. This was the result, and I am thrilled about it.

Ah yes. The classic Hot Air Balloon rising shot. I had always wanted to take one and a Wichita, KS summer festival gave me that opportunity. This shoot took some effort, literally, for as soon as the hot air balloons took off I got on my bike tracked the direction they were starting to head and sped off to try and position myself for a good shooting angle. And what-do-ya-know, it paid off! I also pursued them to another vantage point... but those shots just didn't quite compare to this one.
