Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken on a farm with a dam full of these beauties!

Time

Late afternoon.

Lighting

It was a part cloudy day with even lighting, the Sun occasionally peeked through the clouds as they moved and the reflection of the water created a interesting backlit effect on the lilies nearby.

Equipment

Nikon D800, Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 Lens

Inspiration

The sunlight reflection of the water that caused the glowing effect on the lilies.

Editing

Very minimal on post processing, only slight increase on saturation and a little more on the contrast plus some vignette.

In my camera bag

Nikon D800 camera body, Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 lens, Tamrons 70-200 f2.8 lens, a spare battery, SD cards, a rain cover, and a reflector.

Feedback

I always keep a lookout for interesting lights and reflections, pay attention to where the light bounce on subjects and its surrounding. It's also good to experiment with different compositions, height, angles and perspectives.
