Behind The Lens

Location

I was in a dirt patch, off the side of the road close to my house.

Time

My family and I were waiting to watch the moon rise because it was a blood moon.

Lighting

My siblings were goofing off when they learned that I was taking silhouette photos. They were jumping up and down, piggy back riding, and giving each other bunny ears. The younger one needed help up the mound of dirt and that's how I got this shot. The sunset behind them created perfect lighting for silhouettes.

Equipment

I used my Canon T3i Rebel with the kit lens.

Inspiration

My sister and brothers constantly inspire me.

Editing

I use Lightroom for touch ups. With the sun setting I had to use a higher ISO so in post processing I like to turn up the luminance to reduce any noise in the photo.

In my camera bag

I always carry an extra battery since I forget to charge my camera after a day of shooting. Along with my favorite lens, a Tamron 70-300mm lens.

Feedback

A good silohette needs to have light behind your subject and a recognizable subject.
