I took this photo in my living room after a friend gave me the mug for a Christmas present.Time
I took this in the afternoon, but before golden hour so I had enough window light to bounce off and create a more soft glow.Lighting

Tripod was set up so I could use a timer and be in the shot at the same time.Inspiration
I wanted to show off my new mug while also using it. I was thinking about the classic "girl drinking from a mug" shots but I couldnt find any that had a tight crop like I was envisioning.Editing
I use Lightroom for all my post-processing. I change the lighting after using black and white filters in order to make it more or less dramatic.In my camera bag
I tend to reach for a macro lens lately.Feedback
Always use a tripod when taking self-portraits! Timers work well but remotes are even better if you want to be farther away from the camera.
