Set in the little downland village of Bramber in West Sussex, England, St Mary's House is a timber framed Grade I listed property that is surrounded by formal gardens with topiary, pools, and fountains. Constructed in about 1470 by William of Waynflete the Bishop of Winchester, the house was an Inn for pilgrims on their way to visit the tomb of St. Thomas of Canterbury (Thomas a Becket) in Canterbury Cathedral. The house is open to the public on limited days during the spring and summer months.
