Location
I took this photo in Chicago’s Chinatown neighborhood. The neighborhood is rich with Chinese culture from the food to the architecture. It’s definitely one of my top favorite areas in Chicago.Time
It was late night , so there wasn’t much light to rely on. I also wasn’t planning on taking photos that night either.Lighting
The lighting in this photo was one of the focal points in this composition. I had to use whatever lighting that was in my surroundings , so I kind of got lucky with this shot.Equipment
Surprisingly I just used my Galaxy 5 camera. My angle and organic lighting was everything. For angles I had to just position myself into the right angle until I took the perfect photo.Inspiration
I was out on the town with some friends , we ended up in Chicago’s Chinatown. Being surrounded by the rich culture mixed with the urban city kind of inspired me to whip out my phone and start shooting. I eventually came upon this interesting part of Chinatown. There was something interesting about the lighting and I had to get on the ground to get the right angle , but that’s the life of a photographer.Editing
To be completely honest, I can’t remember because the photo was taken a couple of years ago. But, I probably ran it through Lightroom to touch up.In my camera bag
Now I usually carry around my Nikon 3200 and for light packing I usually have my iPhone 7 equipped for when I’m on the go , not expecting to shoot. For shooting with my IPhone I like to use my Lightroom app because it also allows me to shoot in RAW format. I love it for on the go photos!Feedback
Go out and adventure. That’s the only way you’re going to get better and discover what’s out there. Also it’s not about what equipment you have at the moment , it’s about how you use it.
