This photo is taken in the town Sandnes in Norway summer of 2015. I always loved take pictures and landscapes been a favorite for a long period of time. As a photographer I am self thought even though I have taken some online classes during 2016.Time
This is probably one of the pictures I have had the most positive feedback on. There was some terrific sunsets in western Norway around the time this was captured. The hope for colorful skies dragged me to the top of a mountain this very afternoon. After waiting for a couple of hours without what I was hoping for, I started the hour-long walk back to the house by the sea. When walking down the valley the sky in front of me turned red and I almost run down to the waterline. Light at the time was very low and afraid of wasting time on using my tripod I lay down on the pier for best support the camera. I shot at f6,3 1/160s ISO 500Lighting
No additional light was necessary during this shot. Mother nature gave me what I wanted but it is important to emphasis the need of a sturdy camera in low light situations and use of tripod or similar ways to prevent camera shakeEquipment
I shot this with my Nikon D7200 with a Nikon 18-55 f3,5. Since I was able lay on my stomach on a pier for supporting my camera I didn`t need a tripod on this shotInspiration
I was looking for a colorful sunset since it had been some the last nights. On the mountaintop where I originally wanted to shoot I got some nice pictures but not what I really was hoping for. Water always inspires me and together with lots of sky and some clouds I am in my right element. Wen approaching the water I saw the fishing boat and decided I wanted it in the shot as foreground. I also decided to bring some of the ropes in the frame. When lying down on the pier I was speechless from the beauty in front of me.Editing
This particular picture is very little post-processed. I take all my pictures in RAW so some processing is necessary. This one is done in Lightroom but just a bit of sharpening and contrast is added. In my camera bag
I don`t have a lot of equipment to choose from. This is a combination of need, money and traveling. My Nikon D7200 is always with me. As for lenses I normally bring my Nikon 18-55.. f/3,5 and my Nikon 70-300mm f4. What I been using for the most last 4-5 months is a Nikon 35mm f 1,8 prime. I love that lens ! In addition to this I bring equipment for cleaning glass etc, a cheep flash, remote shutter and my tripodFeedback
Best times for taking pictures like this is of course early morning and at sunset but this is not a absolute. I found time, maybe as much as an hour after sunset gives an amazing light. Another advice is to decide where to shoot during daylight. Find a good spot and don`t end up with broken equipment and a twisted wrist by looking for locations in the dark.... and be patient...
